Bursary Terms & Conditions

Great British School Trip Bursaries – Terms & Conditions 

  1. Eligibility 
  • Applications must be made by a teacher, school representative, or authorised group leader that is registered to The Hyundai Great British School Trip website. 
  • Bursaries are available to UK schools only. 
  • Schools with over 40% of their students on Free School Meals will be prioritised for funding.  
  • The bursary is intended to support pupils facing financial difficulty or access barriers to attending a trip. 
  1. Applications 
  • Applications must be submitted through the official online form. 
  • Only one application per trip can be submitted. 
  • Applications should be made in line with the relevant launch window and trip dates (see below). 
  1. Application Windows & Decisions 
  • Phase 1: [24th September ] → for trips taking place 1 September – 31 December. 
  • Decisions communicated: 22 October. 
  • Phase 2: 22 October → for trips taking place 1 January – 30 March. 
  • Decisions communicated: 3 December. 
  • Phase 3: 3 December → for trips taking place 1 April – 30 June. 
  • Decisions communicated: 28 January. 
  • Phase 4 (Clearing): 28 January –> for remaining trips that have not yet received funding are UK trips having occurred in the 25/26 academic year.. This will close 16th July. 
  1. Funding 
  • The bursary amount awarded will be confirmed via email after review. 
  • Funding will be transferred directly to the school, not to individuals. 
  • The bursary must only be used towards costs directly related to the trip (e.g., travel, entry fees, accommodation). 
  • Funding can only be used for trips that take place in the UK.  
  • We do not recommend that trips are booked based on the assumption of receiving funding.  
  • Receipts for trips which have happened prior to application can be backdated.  
  1. Conditions of Use 
  • If the trip is cancelled or does not go ahead, bursary funds must be returned OR used towards an alternative trip which has occurred during that funding window. 
  • Schools/groups will be asked to provide proof of spend (e.g., receipts or invoices). 
  • Any unspent bursary funds must be returned. 
  1. Other 
  • The bursary cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another trip without prior written approval. 
  • By applying, schools/groups agree to these Terms & Conditions.
