International Day for Monuments & Sites with English Heritage
19 April 2024
As we celebrate International Day for Monuments and Sites, we want to spotlight one of our Hero Partners: English Heritage.
English Heritage stands as a beacon of preservation, holding 400 historic places across the UK. From castles, to ruins to even a cold war bunker, each site exhibits centuries of history offering pupils an insight into history. A variety of venues available as part of The Great British School Trip: As one of our Hero Partners, English Heritage are offering FREE workshops for schools which have over 30% free school meals. These workshops allow pupils to fully immerse themselves in the rich history of the venue and experience what life was like across a variety of time periods.
Pupils can come face to face with Mrs Warwick, the formidable housekeeper to the Braybrooke family at Audley End House and experience life as a Victorian servant or why not get immersed in preparing a feast fit for King Henry III at Goodrich Castle! Join the celebration of historical moments and sites: At The Great British School Trip, we think its incredibly important for students to experience first hand the history which has shaped the UK and beyond; through the preservation and exploration of historic sites, pupils can connect to the past and learn to protect these areas for future generations.
Head to the English Heritage partner page and check out the variety of venues and workshops your pupils can be a part of.
