878 AD is an immersive experience that takes visitors back to a pivotal point, not only in the history of the city, but in the history of England as an emerging, unified nation: the defeat of the Vikings by Alfred the Great at the Battle of Edington in May 878. The Schools Programme provides a unique experience through hands on activities that enable learners to understand Anglo-Saxon life by taking part in curriculum linked quests. With learning outcomes for History, Maths and English, the visit can also be booked with a supporting trip to Winchester City Museum to further enhance understanding of the topic.
