Bawdsey Radar Museum

Transmitter Block, Bawdsey, IP12 3BA. Suffolk

At Bawdsey they offer a range of activities for school groups depending on the age and focus of the group. They have a range of History based activities looking at the significance of Radar and its impact in the Battle of Britain as well as a more general look at wartime Britain. They also provide more STEM-based activities looking at the scientific nature of the discoveries and their lasting impact up to the present day. These are workshop activities designed and led by experienced teachers. They can also provide bespoke tours of the museum to meet more specific needs and can visit schools to deliver talks and assemblies. They also have a range of non-subject specific workshops including their Spy School, which provides an introduction to Codes and Cyphers, and a Mystery Activity designed around the highly secret nature of the work undertaken at Bawdsey and the appearance of a Zeppelin spying on Bawdsey in August 1939.

The cost per student is £4.50 for workshop activities and staff go free on a basis of 1-5.
