Gibside – National Trust

Gibside, Rowlands Gill, NE16 6BG. Tyne & Wear

Gibside is an 18th-century landscape garden with 243 hectares to explore. There are miles of paths through woodland and across open spaces. Wander past ponds and along the River Derwent as you view historic buildings including the Palladian Chapel, stable block, and hall ruin. There are three different play areas to explore and a woodland den-building area. Schools can choose to visit self-led and plan their own activities or choose to book National Trust led activities.

Looking for a bursary to support your trip?

We know that funding a school trip isn’t always easy. If you are looking for help with costs, you can apply for the Great British School Trip bursary. This can help with the cost of travel or entry tickets to any Great British School Trip partner venue.

Cost

National Trust led activities: £2.50+VAT per child for a half day session, £4+VAT per child for a full day
National Trust education group membership also required for entry to Gibside
