Nestled on the South Devon coast in Torquay, in the UNESCO English Riviera Global Geopark, Kents Cavern is the only place in Devon where you can walk in the footsteps of Stone Age people!

500,000 years ago, humans and animals began using the cave as a place to shelter and left behind tools and bones for archaeologists to find thousands of years later.

Their specialist education team will lead you on an exciting journey through the cave system, telling you the story of rocks that are older than the dinosaurs, Stone Age people that lived here with extinct animals, Roman visitors and Victorian archaeologists. Their educational visits have been developed in line with National Curriculum topics in a way that inspires creativity and sparks the imagination of both children and adults.
All educational experiences include an extended tour of the cave and two 30-minute activities focused on your topics. All of this is led by a member of their education team.

Cost: £6.50 per child (including vat). Accompanying adults enter free of charge.
