Leeds Museums and Galleries: Kirkstall Abbey

Kirkstall Abbey is the most complete ruin of a Cistercian monastery in the country, surrounded by a modern, vibrant city. They run a range of workshops looking at what life was like for a monk in Kirkstall exploring writing, clothing, food, medicine, hygiene and discipline. They also have workshops looking at how monks used maths and exploring the site using art activities.

Free admission for self-led. Workshops: up to 1hr £65, up to 2hrs £85.
