Explore what school was really like for Victorian children through their immersive Victorian schoolroom workshop, in role and in costume. Learn the 3 R’s in a typical Leeds school in 1887 under the watchful eye of the school Ma’am.
Explore the working and home lives of Victorian children through roleplay in what was once the biggest woolen mill in the world in their Mill Children workshop. Have a go at jobs that children would have carried out in the mill and experience what it might have been like to live, dress and work as a child during the height of the Industrial Revolution.
Explore the textile process from raw fleece to the finished garment all under one roof with our Wonders of Weaving workshop. Learn about the properties of wool and try carding, spinning and weaving, learning all the skills needed to create a woven masterpiece.
Or even change the world with our LEGO® Build the Change workshop. Design, build, evaluate and share a solution to a real-world sustainability challenge using LEGO bricks in this hands-on workshop.
£1.50 per child admission. Workshops: up to 1hr £65, up to 2hrs £85. Free self led visits for SEND groups.
