The Museum of Oxford is the only museum dedicated to telling the story of Oxford and its people. In two new galleries, the museum explores the changing story of Oxford through its history and people. From football to fairgrounds, marmalade to Morris Motors, patron saints to pubs, barges, bones, and all types of quirky customs—there’s something for everyone. A new space, called Museum Makers, encourages school children and communities to engage with our learning programme in a fun, informal space. Through collection items, video, audio, and interactive displays, the exhibitions uncover what makes Oxford such a special place to live, work and study. It’s a great place for locals to explore their community stories and for all visitors to discover our amazing city.

Workshops cost £4 per pupil. We have a minimum fee of £75 for small groups. Self-led groups of 10 or more cost £1.50 per group member, this is free for a Oxfordshire school if they book in advance. Use of a room for lunch is available at £10 for 30 minutes. There is an invoice charge of £5, other payment methods are available.
