North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark
Bowlees Visitor Centre, Newbiggin-in-Teesdale, DL12 0XE. Durham
The North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark is a protected landscape in the north of England. It is a stunning landscape of open heather moors and peatlands, attractive dales and hay meadows, tumbling upland rivers, wonderful woods, welcoming communities, intriguing imprints of a mining and industrial past, distinctive birds, animals and plants and much, much more.
The North Pennines National Landscape team works to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area. We focus on nature recovery and helping people to make an emotional connection with nature.
Our main venue for school trips is Bowlees Visitor Centre in Upper Teesdale.
Don’t forget, if you are looking for help with funding the cost of your trip, you can apply for a bursary!
