RHS Garden Hyde Hall

Creephedge Lane, Chelmsford, CM3 8ET.

Set across 360 acres, RHS Garden Hyde Hall is an inspirational garden that offers a diverse range of habitats for school groups to explore. With fantastic facilities including their purpose-built Clore Learning Centre and Learning Garden, Global Growth Vegetable Garden, Dry Garden, meadows and woodlands, Hyde Hall is the perfect place to bring your pupils to learn about plants, wildlife and growing your own. All their activities are interactive and practical with a focus on learning through play, exploration, working together and asking questions.

Their exciting workshops offer hands-on sessions for children at Foundation Stage, and in Primary and Secondary schools (KS1-4) including those with special educational needs (SEND).”

The RHS also offer a Travel Grant for eligible schools to support with the cost of travel for their trip.

School visits to RHS Gardens are free (pre-booked) and give children the opportunity to get involved in practical horticulture, art and science. Bringing the curriculum to life in an inspiring setting, visits are led by the schools themselves or with workshops run by experienced Education Officers, based at each site.

Don’t forget, if you are looking for help with funding the cost of your trip, you can apply for a bursary!
