Seaton Delaval Hall was home to the Delavals who used it as their party house! They would host huge parties for up to 4,000 people and amongst the jugglers, tightrope walkers and other entertainment there would be plenty of mischief and mayhem as the Delavals would play elaborate pranks on their guests.
School groups can look around the house and grounds which include fun and interactive features such as a mirror cube, upside-down rooms, keyhole animations, sound and artistic installations, and a Georgian theatre where you can have a go at treading the boards.

MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM (KS2 &3)
A half or full day visit designed to inspire young people’s creativity. Whilst on site, students can get a tour of the Hall and learn more about the Delaval’s pranks and theatrical exploits, before being challenged to design their own bit of mischief for the Delavals! Students can also take part in a range of STEM based activities to explore some mechanisms that might play a key part in their designs. Teachers and students can then use additional resources to follow up their learning in the classroom to bring their designs to life.
