The Shuttleworth Collection

Old Warden Aerodrome, Biggleswade, SG18 9ER. Beds

The Shuttleworth Collection is a world-renowned, working collection of vintage transport. Its 150 large exhibits include the oldest flying airplane in the world and it is also currently home to the oldest working tractor in the world. It is where history flies and drives. Their exhibits are key to contextualizing and drawing relevance to learning. All their programmes are led, and include activities, object handling (original and replica), and trails. All school visits are (subject to weather and serviceability) given a ride on one of their 100-year-old buses – a superbly visceral experience that contextualizes and draws relevance to their learning.

Price: £6.50 per pupil – inclusive of all activities and guides, the exclusive use of their Discovery Workshop as a base room, and a trip for your children on the Collection’s 1913 Wellingborough double-decker bus (subject to weather and serviceability).

As part of the GBST, The Shuttleworth Collection is offering a free afternoon at The Swiss Gardens (normally £4) when you book a trip to the Shuttleworth Collection.
