Winchester Cathedral is focused upon enquiry led learning, where every young person participates in a journey as they explore one or more topics (The Anglo Saxons; Faith & Philosophy; The Environment). Each topic is participatory, authentic, and memorable – with multiple applications across the National Curriculum.

Students work in groups to decide if ‘Alfred was Great’; they experience what is was like to live as monk; they discover how the environment is changing as they wade into local rivers; they get to question real priests about their religious beliefs and how they fit with the modern world.

Visits are enhanced through access to extensive classroom resources which extend and enrich the National Curriculum.
