Wrest Park and Gardens – English Heritage

Wrest Park lends itself to exploration. Your class can explore over 90 acres of landscape design showcasing French, Dutch, Italian and English styles side by side. Find out more about the garden and the people who shaped it, in our exhibition in the house.

Exploring the landscape at Wrest Park is a great way to get outside and support your studies in the fresh air. Take inspiration for your literacy project, enjoy the woodland and read with your class, and discover the ecology of the estate and the varied plants. Make use of our education room to complete work relating to your visit and as a lunch space.

The Romans: Life and Culture

Students will have the chance to handle real and replica Roman artefacts within our Archaeological Collections Store and become ‘history hunters’ in the aisles of the Wroxeter Roman City collection, which displays remains from the fourth largest Roman city in Britain. Students will examine some fine examples of replica Roman coins and have a go at making their own from cay to take away. An interactive and lively session which aims to answer the question: What impact did the Romans have on Britain?

Availability April to October: Wednesday during term time. Sessions last for 2 hours.

FREE SELF-LED VISITS

You can bring your class to any of our sites entirely free of charge. We offer free entry to pre-booked schools, as well as free planning visits to help you make the most out of your day. Use our free downloadable resources to help with your planning and risk assessment.

EXPERT-LED WORKSHOPS

Award-winning and immersive Discovery Visits are available at selected sites from just £100 per session per class. Students of all ages and abilities can meet characters from the past, role-play or handle intriguing objects.
