National Holocaust Centre and Museum

Acre Edge Road, Laxton, Newark, NG22 0PA. Nottinghamshire

The National Holocaust Centre and Museum teach not only what happened in the Holocaust, but also why it happened. Their educators teach critical thinking skills in an age-appropriate and sensitive way. Their spiral curriculum is based on the values of gaining knowledge and making links between the past and the present. Students have access to two permanent exhibitions, collections of objects, the testimony or a family of Holocaust survivors and beautiful memorial gardens. You can come to them, they can come to you and they’re online too! Speak to them today about their primary, secondary and post-16 learning programmes, which explain how ordinary people can become refugees, analyse misinformation on social media and evaluate how hate can lead to genocide. They are open every day of the school year and over 30,000 students engaged with them in the last year alone.

Cost: £9 per pupil
